When working on this composition, a friend remarked that it was like smelling a string quartet. Smooth and interconnected. That brought me to the term, "Legato," which indicates notes that are seamlessly intertwined with no space between them. The three ouds that I used (Thai, Cambodian and Black Pearl) have unique properties that work together to work in harmony. Additionally, the juicy, stone fruit notes of plum and apricot coat the entire composition while the exquisite spice of saffron combined with the silken spice of white lotus absolute and the rich Virginia cedar add a texture that unifies it all. There are no disparate notes, but rather eight timbres playing in harmony.
Notes: Plum, apricot, saffron, white lotus, oud, Virginia cedar
